Lake Park Medium Picnic Shelter

The Medium Outdoor Picnic Shelter is located near the Splashpad at Lake Park. The Shelter can hold up to 60-65 people and has the following amenities: 2 Charcoal grills, 8 picnic tables, water fountains, 7 playgrounds close by, and restrooms located at Shay Stage. Splashpad bathrooms are opened during summer months. This facility is available for reservations Sunday through Saturday from 10a - 6pm.

In order to keep the park safe and clean, we ask that our patrons carefully read the following Pineville Parks Rules and Regulations before signing this contract. Your signature indicates your complete understanding and acceptance of Pineville Parks Rules and Regulations. These rules and regulations are strictly enforced.



1. As the signatory of this contract you are the responsible party in charge of this event. It is your responsibility to inform your

guest of these rules and regulations and ensure that everyone in your group is abiding by these rules and regulations. As the

signatory you must be the contact person and present at your event.

2. Clean up is required after your event. All trash is to be placed in the trash cans provided. All tables need to be replaced back according to the grid in the large shelter kiosk. Parks and Recreation Staff will empty the trash cans.

3. Decorations are permitted with the exclusion of confetti or glitter. When hanging your decorations please use only string.

NO tape, staples, tacks, pushpins, nails, etc., -- they all cause permanent damage. All decorations must be removed

at the end of your event. You will forfeit the entire $50.00 deposit for use of any of the above items!

4. The use of Piñatas and water balloons are strictly prohibited in all areas of Town Parks.

5. Please conclude your event either before or at the end of your contracted time. Late fees may be imposed and future

reservations denied if rules are not followed. You will forfeit the entire $50.00 deposit if you go past 6:00pm.

6. All shelter reservations are restricted to your specific contract time period 10:00am-6:00pm.

7. Please inform your guest that the following activities are restricted at Pineville Lake Park: boating, swimming, rock throwing,

fishing without a permit; fishing other than catch and release with a permit.

8. Skateboarding, scooters, and bicycles are prohibited under shelters at all Town Parks. They are also restricted in the stage

area and any other places reflecting signage prohibiting such activity.

9. No directional signs are allowed on any light or telephone poles -- Free standing signs only --

10. Alcohol is not permitted in the Park. Alcohol used by anyone in your group will result in your entire group being asked to

leave or forcibly removed by Pineville or Charlotte Mecklenburg Police. If the latter action is taken, you may face possible

fines and/or imprisonment. Carefully monitor your group.

11. Music and noise levels should be kept to a minimum. You will be asked to turn off any loud music that disturbs other groups.

12. No hot oil cooking of any kind. Groups will be asked to leave and no further reservations will be taken under contracted individuals name.

13. Grilling: There are (2) charcoal grills provided at the medium and large picnic shelters. You may not bring your own charcoal grill unless it is on a trailer. Gas grills of any size are permitted.

14. Vehicles are restricted to the parking lots only. Under no circumstances are vehicles permitted on the Park lawns or in the

shelter areas. Safety and insurance regulations prohibit vehicles from operating beyond the parking lots.

15. Shelter fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be given for personal cancellation or inclement weather. However you will

be granted the opportunity to reschedule your event one year from the Event Date on your contract. All cancellations must

be made at least two weeks prior to your rental in order to reschedule within one year.

16. If any of the above rules and regulations are unclear and further explanation is required, it is your responsibility to contact the Parks and Recreation office during regular business hours to discuss any thoughts, comments, or questions that you may have at 704-889-2400. Violations of the above rules will result in forfeiture of the $50.00 deposit and possible denial of future shelter rentals.

17. Max capacity for each Shelter at Lake Park is as followed: Small Shelter - 20, Medium Shelter - 65, Large Shelter - 100
